just be

Listening to the whisper of hope in our ears, seeing faith through open eyes, feeling the tug of God’s will on our heart, we begin a journey of love and compassion down a trail of service through a world of instability. In the journey of life many adventures present themselves; only a few are taken. Change happens only when an element in the equation is altered. An act by one or many will cause a chain reaction whose full effect can only be known by God. Change affects us all… “BE the Change YOU want to see in the World!” and journey with us though adventures taken and BE amazed at what happens through YOUR love and compassion.

Adventure Summary

Welcome to our Adventure Summary page.

To give you a little orientation, the Sister Missions Site is set up as a home base or main location for updates and general information/educational points on all our ADVENTURES through our Journey of life!

To make it easier on the eyes and the brain, each Adventure will have its own site so information will not get mixed up on Sister Missions’ site when more than one Adventure is unfolding. Below is a short description (with last updated date) of each Adventure Sister Missions has been a part of or is planning...

Angel's Night Out, Oct 2008 (updated 10/4/08) On Jeanna’s Detroit home front, Sister Missions is partnering with Urban Detroit Wholesalers to raise money to support Angel's Night and Blight Busters. You must read about how Angel's Night has transformed Oct 29-31 from the most dangerous to the SAFEST night of the year. PLUS you can win $10,000 and become an Angel!

Motor City Blight Busters (TBA) In Detroit, Sister Missions is again partnering with Urban Detroit Wholesalers to plan a HUGE charity event supporting Motor City Blight Busters in late 2009. This is going to be the event of the season! We are not uncovering much information at this time, but be assured that Sister Mission readers will have the scoop first. The site for additional information is not up yet. We will let you know!

Sisters for Kodera, Aug 2008 (updated: 9/08) Andrea and Jeanna went to Kenya this summer as part of Pine Lake Covenant Church’s Kodera team to teach computer skills and life strategies. To see pictures & stories about what we did, where we went, updates from the village, and how you can still help, please click on Sisters for Kodera, Aug 2008 here or under any adventure sidebar.

Andrea’s Africa, July 2007 (updated: 7/08) Another adventure is an off shoot of Andrea’s trip to Karare, Kenya last summer for her thesis research. Click Andrea’s Africa, July 2007 here or under any adventure sidebar to explore friendships made, pictures taken, stories woven and needs developed.

Campbell Farms (updated: 8/08) On Andrea's home front of Seattle, Sister Missions again partnered with PLCC to assist in training the next generation of Mission Adventurers (our youth) and helping people right here is the USA at Campbell Farms. This will be an annual adventure. So check back!

We want you to be a part of the adventures and our journey just as we want the adventures to be a part of your life journey. This site is in no way about us at all! It is about what can happen when people come together in thoughts, prayer, giving, actions and life.

No worries, we will let you know when updates have been made to any of our Adventure sites! Speaking of update, please take a moment now to add SisterMissions@gmail.com to your email’s safe list. We will be sending out all our updates and information from the Sister Missions address. This is not one of those "Do Not Reply" addresses. We would love to hear from you – so add SisterMissions@gmail.com to your contacts also!

We would love to hear from your friends too! Share this site with those you feel would want to come on this adventure with us. Email them any post (maybe this post) entry by clicking the small envelope image at the bottom of the post (to the right of the date stamp). Don't forget to remind them to put SisterMissions@gmail.com on their email safe list!

I know we have said (typed) it before......Change happens only when an element in the equation is altered. An act by one will start a small chain reaction that equals change. Imagine what can happen with one act by many….. Change affects us all even if we are unaware of the effects on ourselves or others. Your one, seemingly small, act done today in your everyday routine could very well be the tipping point for a chain of events leading to a major event in someone else’s life. Do you really know who is watching your actions, listening to your words or who you touch with your compassion? “BE the Change YOU want to see in the World!” and journey with us though adventures taken and BE amazed at what happens through YOUR love and compassion.
